Conversations and Threads
Ask Watsin questions, get longer answers with Tell me more, and save the conversations you want to keep.
Asking a quick question
Tap the chat box at the bottom of the screen (or the orb just above it), type your question and tap Done on the keyboard.
- With a product’s page open, the box says Ask about this product and Watsin answers about that product.
- With no page open, it says Ask me anything… and Watsin answers using the last few messages of the chat.
Quick replies are short, a sentence or two. They don’t use your profile, so if an allergy or a diet matters for the answer, mention it in your question. For a fuller answer, use Tell me more.
Tell me more
Tell me more turns a short reply into a longer answer, called a Thread.
- Tap one of Watsin’s replies in the chat to show its buttons. The newest reply already shows them.
- Tap Tell me more.
- A sheet opens and says “Generating longer message” while Watsin writes. The answer then appears with a title.
You’ll also find Tell me more under the score on a product’s page.
Thread answers take into account the product, the messages before it and the profile fields you’ve switched on.
Follow-up questions
While a Thread is open, the chat box says Ask in this thread. Type a follow-up question and Watsin answers in the same Thread.
Saving and deleting Threads
- To keep a Thread, tap Save at the top of it. A Thread you don’t save isn’t added to your list.
- Your saved Threads are in the menu under Messages, most recently updated first. Tap one to open it.
- Once a Thread is saved, the reply or product it came from shows Open thread instead of Tell me more.
- To delete a saved Thread, open it and tap Delete at the top.
Your chat and your Threads are kept only on your iPhone. They aren’t stored on our servers, so they don’t appear on another device.
Credits
Chat replies, ingredient explanations and Threads use credits (they’re included in Watsin Unlimited). When you run out, the chat box is replaced by Usage limited with a Subscribe button. See Plans, credits and billing.
