Your profile

Tell Watsin about your diet and allergies, set your daily nutrition targets, and change the language and the orb colour.

Tap Profile in the bottom bar (or open the menu and tap Profile). Your Profile has three tabs: Dietary, Nutrition and Account.

Dietary

There are four fields: Dietary preferences, Foods to avoid, Mild allergies and Strong allergies.

  1. Turn on the switch next to a field.
  2. Write in plain words, for example “vegetarian, little added sugar” or “peanuts, sesame”.
  3. Tap Save.

Put allergies that could make you seriously ill under Strong allergies, and milder ones or intolerances under Mild allergies, so Watsin can tell them apart.

Watsin uses the fields that are switched on for:

Quick chat replies don’t use your profile. A product’s score and flags are worked out when you scan it, so after changing your profile, scan a product again to update them.

If you switch a field off, its text stays on your iPhone but isn’t used. Your profile is kept only on your iPhone; a field’s text is sent to the AI with a request only while its switch is on. See the Privacy Policy.

Watsin’s flags are a help, not a guarantee. Always read the label, especially for allergies. See Understanding a product.

Nutrition

Set your own daily targets, in grams, for Protein, Fats, Carbs and Salt. Type a number and tap the tick, or tap outside the field. If you leave a field empty, Watsin uses a general reference value.

Calories at the top are worked out from your protein, fats and carbs targets, in kcal and kJ.

On a product’s page, the percentage on each nutrition row shows how much of your daily target one portion covers. These targets are your own choice; Watsin doesn’t recommend them. If you need targets for health reasons, ask a doctor or dietitian.
